Drew Allen was born on February 19th at 4:30 am. He weighed 7lbs 15 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Here are just a few pictures from the hospital. Lauren and Chase were both so excited. It was so cute to see them hold him and kiss him.

Ice skating

Lauren has started taking ice skating lessons. She loves it! It was her first time ever skating, so she was little nervous. I had to help her walk to the ice, but after the lesson, she could walk off the ice and into the lobby all by herself. When we are in the lobby, she and her friends can't help but gawk at the older girls in their pretty outfits, and pink ice skates. They stare at the girls, and tell them they look pretty. It's so cute. The above picture is of Chase getting a ride with our friend Jeff, while the lesson was going on. In the below pictures, Lauren is in the pink Jacket.

She insisted on wearing a skirt over her jeans, so she could be like an ice princess.

Rocklin 1st ward variety show

Our ward had a variety show. Lauren and her friends did a dance to the "Lollipop" song. She did a great job, and all of the girls were really cute.

We went with some friends to feed horses. Lauren was nervous and just admired them from afar. Chase really liked feeding the horses. The kids had a good time. They keep asking me when we are going again.

Lauren has been bugging me to cut her hair. I finally took her to the salon and chopped it off. She LOVED getting her hair washed. She told the hairdresser that her dad was going to say she was bald- headed. I love her hair short. I hope she wants to keep it this way for awhile.

My nephew, Davis, had his birthday party at a bowling Alley. It was the first time my kids ever bowled. They loved it. A couple of times, they rolled the ball so slow, I thought it would stop in the middle of the lane.

Christmas

This year we had christmas at my parent's house. All of my brothers and sisters and their families came, so it was packed. This picture was taken on Christmas eve.

She got a barbie dollhouse, which is what she told 2 different Santas. Well, on christmas eve, my mom went around the room and asked everyone what they wanted from Santa. Lauren tells her she wants a cupcake maker. So she was a little disappointed on christmas morning. Oops.
Santa brought Chase a spiderman bike. Chase is crazy about spiderman. So, he was very excited.
This is Chase sleeping christmas morning. He sat on his bike for a little while, and then laid in Marcus's lap and fell asleep.
I died laughing when I saw this under the tree. This is how Marcus wrapped my christmas present.

Lauren turns 5!

I can't believe Lauren is 5! I want her to stay little FOREVER! There are so many things that I love about her. For one, she is quite the story teller, and a talker. Her stories tend to go on and on, and usually involves a rattle snake. (I wonder who she takes after?) She loves to dance and to perform for anyone who comes over. Her favorite song is "So What" by Pink. It is really adorable to hear her belt out the song. She has a great personality, and is so fun to be around. I am so grateful that she is part of our family.

Lauren had her birthday party on her birthday. She was really excited because it was a christmas party. We played fun christmas games, and made a very messy christmas craft. I didn't get to many pictures because I was so busy.
The party was absolutely crazy! 21 kids came. Thankfully I had asked some 11 year old girls from our ward to come and help. I am still sweeping up sprinkles. Lauren had a blast, so I guess that is the most important thing.

Lauren's Christmas program

Lauren's preschool put on a little christmas program. The kids sang us (parents) songs and then Santa came and brought them gifts. All of the kids were so excited. Lauren was sitting right in front of Santa, and kept interrupting him (telling him stories) when he was trying to talk. It was her birthday that day, and she felt extra special when he wished her a happy birthday. Chase had fun, because he got to sit on Santa's lap and get a present.

Halloween

I am finally posting the pictures of Halloween. We had a fun Halloween this year. Chase was so excited to go trick or treating. He ran to every house, and every once in a while, I heard him ask for more candy. Lauren was really cute. At every house, she would ask if the candy had nuts (she has a severe nut allergy). I was so proud of her. We went trick or treating with my brother and his kids. The picture above is of Chase and my nephew Davis.Lauren was Princess Fiona. I think her favorite part of Halloween, was putting on make- up.

Bishops Pumpkin Farm

Lauren's preschool went on a field trip earlier this month,to Bishops Pumpkin Farm. Fall is my favorite time of year, and every year I look forward to coming to the pumpkin farm. The kids took a hayride out to the pumpkin farm, and picked out their own pumpkins. Lauren wanted a baby one. They took a train ride, watched pig races, pet some animals, slid down some big slides, etc. Here are some pictures of the field trip.

Chase loved picking out his pumpkin. He was very particular about which one he wanted. He would bend down to look at one, and if it wasn't what he was looking for, he would move on to another pumpkin. It took him a while to pick one out.

Emigrant Gap

For FHE on Monday night, we went up to some water falls. Marcus took the Young Men cliff jumping at these falls, and really wanted to take the kids. The falls are about an hour away, (towards Reno) so by the time we got there it was getting dark. These are the pictures we quickly took before hiking down.

80's Night

My friend had an 80's party at the roller skating rink. It was a ton of fun. We all dressed 80's and skated to 80's music. We played the limbo game and red, green light. (we rented out the rink, so we had it all to ourselves). I didn't get many pictures,but some of the outfits people wore were really great. Thanks Jeff and Eliza for babysitting.

First day of school

Yesterday was Lauren's first day of school. This is her last year of preschool, and then it is off to kindergarten. She was so excited. We were even ready 15 min. before school started. She is getting so big! Chase was so sad and cried when I dropped Lauren off at school. He wanted to go so bad.

Lauren and Chase went to a birthday party where they got to hold and touch different reptiles. This party was so cute, and the kids had a ton of fun. At the end, you could choose which reptile you wanted to take a picture with. Lauren, of course, chose the snake.

Lauren was absolutely loving this. She is obsessed with snakes, and will tell all sorts of stories about snakes. (usually the story will end with her being bitten by a rattle snake.).

Triathlon

Marcus, his Counterpart, and one of the doctors he works with, participated in a relay triathlon. They came in 1st! Marcus is an awesome swimmer, and had a really fast swim time.

The kids were busy one morning building a bear trap. They strung wire around a cluster of trees. This is a picture of Carissa, Elise, Kyla, Mariah, and Lauren in front of the bear trap when it was all finished.
Chase hung out at the snack table most of the time. Whenever I couldn't find him, I would just walk down to the snack table, and there he would be, eating chips, cookies, and candy.

We went camping with a bunch of friends in the middle of July. We went to a different camping spot that had a beautiful lake. We had so much fun! I definitely want to camp there every year.

The tube landed on top of Lauren, and Marcus dove in the water to get her. Once she was in the boat, She looked at Marcus and said, "Daddy, you saved me!"

I put Lauren and Chase both down for a nap. I went to check on them, and couldn't resist taking a picture. Chase was asleep under his bed, and Lauren had pulled out her baby doll crib and climbed in to take a nap. I have no idea how she fit.

Disneyland!

we went down to Disneyland the first week of may. We stayed at Chad Jackson's house. (Marcus's roomate from college). He lives in Orange, so Disneyland was less than 10 min. away. This a picture of Lauren and Chad's little boy, Adam. He is so cute! It was a short, but very fun weekend. We got there friday night, went to Disneyland on saturday, and came home Sunday morning. Thanks Chad for letting us stay at your house. It was really good to see you and Amber again. Here are just a few pictures from our trip.

Lauren was asleep in the stroller, and Minnie mouse peeked her head in and woke her up. She was so happy.
She was so excited to see Jasmine. It was our first time ever seeing her at Disneyland. Afterwards, whenever she talked about Jasmine, she would say," she was showing her tummy. that's not appropriate."
Lauren is really into Pocahontas at this time. Lauren kept asking her where John Smith was. Pocahontas talked to Lauren for quite awhile. She thought Lauren was so cute, that she gave Lauren a kiss.
That was just a few of our pictures. We actually took Chase this year, and he loved it. When he talks of disneyland, he tells you that he was scared of the pirates. He never cried on the ride, but had a strong grip on Marcus's leg.

Here are some pictures of Easter. Marcus was in Hawaii for work, so we went and had Easter with a couple of friends. The kids had so much fun, they wouldn't come in for dinner. Chase was so tired from playing, he fell asleep on the trampoline with the kids still bouncing. We had a fantastic Easter. I wasn't able to get a picture of Lauren and Chase in their Easter outfits, because we were late to church and Lauren was singing with the primary.

Lauren's preschool had an easter egg hunt at the park. The eggs were thrown on the grass and each kid was allowed to find 12 eggs. It was fun to watch Lauren and Chase fight for eggs. Chase actually took some eggs from other kids baskets. Here are some pictures of the activity. ( I didn't post the picture of Chase sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap. He was screaming and it was a really sad picture.)

We made a quick trip to Merced. We hadn't been there for months, so it was really good to see some of our old friends. I was also able to say goodbye to my friend Hilary (she moved to texas). Lauren and Chase loved to play with their friends and spending time with Grandma and Grandpa.

We had our nine year anniversary on Febuary 12th. I can't believe that it has been that long. We went out to dinner, but ended up leaving early because I got sick. I'll make it up to him next year. I decided to make my own stockings this year. Not bad for my first time sewing. My friend Kate helped me. I was at her house every day for almost two weeks. I would go over in the morning and stay until it was time for dinner. It was so much fun hanging out all day. Thanks Kate!

My Little Pony Party

Lauren turns 4 Dec. 17th. I decided to throw her a party early. She insisted on having a My Little Pony party. It was a lot of fun. I painted the girls faces,(thanks Meghan for your help), we had a pinata, and a ton of ponies to play with. We had ten girls over and they had so much fun playing with each other. It was so cute to watch Chase. He followed the girls everywhere. When they were screaming, he was screaming. When we ordered Lauren's cake, the Baker sat her down and had her taste three different cakes. She chose the triple chocolate, which was an excellent choice. I instantly saw her 20 years later, picking out her wedding cake. She is growing up too fast.

Ariel is Lauren's favorite princess. She was so excited for Halloween. I surprised her that night by spraying her hair red. She makes a beautiful red head. Chase was a pirate. He loved carrying around his sword.

The local youth theatre group put on the play Annie. My girlfriends and I took our daughters to see it, and then went out to dinner. Lauren loved it. After the play, "Annie", took pictures and gave autographs. Isn't she cute? It was really hard to get a good picture of Annie and Lauren.

Monterey

b Marcus and I went to Monterey for the weekend. We had an awesome time. It is always nice to spend one on one time with each other. This is a picture taken from our hotel, and as you can see it's beautiful. I hope to return in the near future. On our way back we met up with some old college friends that we had not seen in years.

Bishops Pumpkin Farm

Lauren had her first field trip. We went to Bishops Pumpkin Farm. It was so cute. We went on a train ride around the farm. Lauren loved the train ride and wanted to go again. We then took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch, where Lauren picked out her pumpkin. Lauren's favorite thing was the petting zoo. There were piglets that were three days old. Before we left the farm, we had to look at the piglets again. We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back.

First Day of Preschool!

Lauren started preschool this month. She goes on Tuesday and Thursday morning. She loves it! I miss her so much when she is gone, but it is fun to have some one on one time with Chase. Chase misses her too. He cries when we drop her off at school. I love picking her up from school. When she sees me, she runs to me yelling mommy! I pick her up and get the biggest hugs. I love it. I can't believe she is old enough to go to school.

Pismo Beach

We went to Pismo Beach for Labor Day. Our little niece, Emma, was blessed that Sunday. She is so tiny and adorable. We had so much fun. We went to the beach and played with cousins. Vernal Falls, Yosemite Park

Lauren hiked up Vernal Falls all by herself. She did awesome. She never complained, even when she had to hike the stairs.
We went to Yosemite this past summer. We hiked Vernal Falls and some other small trails. Yosemite is so beautiful. I hope we can go back soon. This picture was taken at the top of Vernal Falls.
Chase was exhausted. Hiking is hard work. He had so much fun running around the trees and climbing on rocks.
We also went over to Mariposa Grove in Yosemite. They have giant Sequoia Trees.

New York! New York!

My sisters, cindi, tari, and I went to New York City this summer. It was so much fun. Here are some pictures of our trip.
We went and ate at "Tavern on the Green" in Central Park. It was beautiful.

We went and saw "Curtains" starring David Hyde Pierce. ( he won the Tony this year). It was so good. We laughed all the way back to our hotel.

It rained, and we were stuck on top of the bus. Lucky for us, the bus company gave us ponchos.

Manhattan Temple. It was so quiet inside. You couldn't hear any of the traffic from outside. It was amazing.

Hawaii (the big Island)

Marcus and I left the kids behind and went to Hawaii for a week.

We stayed at the Waikaloa Hilton Resort. This is the view from our room. Marcus had a great time swimming in the ocean, while I sat on the beach reading a book. It was heaven.
